Group DBT therapy
We offer an online Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills group led by Cara Miles, a registered clinical psychologist. This 22-week program covers essential DBT modules, including Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness, helping participants develop valuable coping skills. The group is educational in nature, with weekly live Zoom sessions featuring mindfulness practices, homework reviews, and skill-building exercises. While not a comprehensive DBT program or a substitute for individual therapy, this group provides a supportive space for learning and growth.
Dialectical behavior therapy is a modular treatment consisting of a combination of approaches. It can include individual psychotherapy, group skills, modeling, instructions, stories, behavioral rehearsal, feedback and coaching, and homework assignments.
Clients who undertake DBT-based supportive psychotherapy are empowered with the following skills:
mindfulness
interpersonal effectiveness
emotional regulation
distress tolerance
