DBT-based Supportive Psychotherapy

Dialectical behavior therapy is a modular treatment consisting of a combination of approaches. It can include individual psychotherapy, group skills, modeling, instructions, stories, behavioral rehearsal, feedback and coaching, and homework assignments.

Clients who undertake DBT-based supportive psychotherapy are empowered with the following skills:

  • mindfulness

  • interpersonal effectiveness

  • emotional regulation

  • distress tolerance
